# Siyoung Oh – Developer, Educator, Technologist
**Building backend systems, teaching builders of all kinds, and coding with a conscience.**
I build systems that actually get used, and help people of all ages fall in love with code.
From civic tech to developer education, I work where systems meet real-world impact.
## About
I began not as a developer, but as a planner —
co-founding a local impact startup that designed programs for
place-based connection, community regeneration, and shared joy.
We turned guesthouses into gathering spaces, hosted small festivals,
and helped people fall in love with their neighborhoods.
That journey led me to software — a new kind of medium for building
systems of care, distributed knowledge, and public good.
Now, I build back-end systems, support civic tech,
and help people of all ages fall in love with code.
Still at the core:
connecting people, sharing knowledge, and building things that matter.
And sometimes, hacking on things that make the world a little better.
